A part of Amazon Worldwide Operations, Area Managers have the chance to learn strong people leadership and project management skills. Area Managers play a vital part in Amazon's operations, leveraging their talent for guiding teams and driving projects forward. Amazon provides extensive training and development for entry level managers to become exceptional people leaders.

Amazon is seeking customer focused individuals to lead a team of hourly workforce across our cutting-edge Operations network This is not a corporate, remote or office-based position. This is a full-time, entry level position located within one of our Amazon fulfillment centers, sort centers, delivery stations or other operations buildings. Our warehouses are fast-paced environments where standing, walking, and having on-the-production floor conversations are common as a visible supply chain leader You will have an opportunity to invest in others and develop a collaborative leadership style, while utilizing the tools, processes, and customer-centric operations.

As an Area Manager, you will be responsible for engaging, leading and developing your team in a distribution warehouse environment. Your main focus will be motivating, mentoring, and managing your team to meet targeted goals. As a people manager, you will ensure that the team of Amazon Associates has all the tools needed to succeed and maintain the highest levels of safety, quality, attendance and performance at work.

Key Job Responsibilities
  1. Support, mentor and motivate 50-100 direct report Amazon Associates
  2. Work independently and operate in an autonomous environment
  3. Stand/walk during shifts lasting up to 12 hours
  4. Willing and able to regularly work shift patterns that include nights, weekends, and/or holidays based on business needs. While shifts vary site to site, most follow a fixed 4-day work week with 3 days off.
  5. Oversee truck deliveries, handle and sort packages using pallet jacks, operate PIT equipment (at applicable facilities) and step in as needed.
  6. Work in an environment where the noise level varies
  7. Lift up to 49 pounds and frequently push, pull, squat, bend and reach
  8. Climb and descend stairs (when applicable)
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

A bachelor’s or master’s degree with all requirements completed between May 2023 and August 2025. (You must have all degree requirements met before your first day).

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Strong communication skills, both verbal and written; excellent customer service and interpersonal skills; currently enrolled in or graduated with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Supply Chain, Business/Management, Engineering or another related field.
