To meet our growth challenges, WSP is currently seeking an Intermediate Process Engineer to join our teams located in our offices in Alberta, Ontario and Atlantic. As an Intermediate Process Engineer you will begin to plan and complete work without supervision, including checking calculations and aiding in training of more junior engineers. You will be part of our growing team, using your skills as an engineer to design facilities across Canada and globally. What you can expect to do here You'll be using your expertise to collaborate with different disciplines at WSP and provide expertise and client deliverables on projects. Day to day activities that will be completed with the guidance of a more senior process engineer include: Conduct process simulations using appropriate software to optimize system performance and efficiency. This includes modeling and predicting process behaviors using mathematical models and computer simulations. Determine the appropriate sizes for equipment based on process requirements and prepare data sheets that detail the specifications and requirements of each piece of equipment. Perform calculations to determine the optimal size for process lines, considering factors such as flow rate, pressure drop, and temperature. Prepare data sheets for instruments used in the process, including instrument specifications, operating conditions, and maintenance requirements. Develop Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) to represent the flow of materials through the process, identifying major equipment, process conditions, and flow rates. Markup Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) to reflect changes in the process or equipment, including adding, removing, or modifying symbols and labels as necessary. Conduct studies to understand and improve the process, including analyzing data, identifying bottlenecks, and proposing solutions to improve efficiency and productivity. Participate in Hazard and Operability (HAZOP) studies to identify and evaluate potential hazards and propose mitigation measures. Review drawings provided by vendors to ensure they meet process requirements, including checking dimensions, materials, and design details. The majority of work will be task oriented. The engineer may be in charge of smaller projects or be assigned to a specific client as alliance support. On larger projects, you will support the Area Lead to complete tasks above. What you’ll bring to WSP Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Chemical Engineering Minimum 5 years of experience in the oil and gas industry working as a process engineer, ideally with gas processing plant experience P.Eng licensed with APEGA Enjoy working in a team environment in an intermediate role to develop your skills Strong communication and report writing skills Be organized and complete tasks with a focus on quality, schedule and budget About Us WSP is one of the world's leading professional services firms.
