Business Development Manager – PenderFund Capital Management PenderFund Capital Management Ltd (“Pender”) is an independent, employee‑owned, value‑based investment firm founded in 2003. We are seeking a Business Development Manager in Vancouver or Toronto to support and partner with an assigned District Vice President (External Wholesaler). The successful candidate will work on a hybrid schedule from our Vancouver or Toronto office. Responsibilities Collaborate with and provide ongoing support to the District Vice President to execute an annual territory business plan focused on the development and strengthening of long‑term relationships with investment advisors within a defined territory. Work with the District Vice President to increase sales and market share of Pender’s funds through engagement with prospects and existing supporters. Conduct proactive outreach through sales calls, emails, and booking meetings with investment advisors and position Pender’s funds using a consultative sales approach to identify and advance sales opportunities. Update and log daily activities and maintain accurate records within Salesforce.com on a timely basis. Maintain a comprehensive understanding of Pender’s funds and industry trends in the market, and related considerations for advisors and their investors. Occasionally accompany the District Vice President to represent Pender at branch visits, client seminars, branch presentations, road shows and conferences. Skills and Qualifications Undergraduate degree in business, finance, or related field. 1+ years of previous experience in the financial services, investment or related industry. Thorough knowledge of the securities industry, particularly of stock and bond markets and how they relate to mutual funds. Ability to initiate and maintain client relationships and superior customer service skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Excellent interpersonal, judgment and decision‑making skills. Self‑motivated with the ability to work as a great team player. Strong organizational and problem‑solving skills. Keen attention to detail. Additional Strengths Completion of the Canadian Securities Course or willingness to complete within one year. Completion of other industry certifications (e.g., IFIC, CFA, CFP, CIM) considered an asset. Excellent proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, SharePoint). Knowledge of Salesforce.com is a strong asset. What’s in it for you? Competitive base salary and commission, with a bonus package.
