Pay Rate:

IC: $35.50/hr T4: $31.50/hr

Under the direction of the Head, Wealth Management & Enterprise Events, this job is accountable for creating and delivering consistently great client experiences through the planning and execution of events, both internal and external, for BMO Financial Group. These events are highly visible and involve interaction with clients as well as senior-level executives. The role has responsibility for managing budgets, logistics, engaging business partners, managing internal and external communications, executing, and tracking and reporting results. Must represent the organization with professionalism, courtesy and integrity.

Collaboration: This job must work with appropriate Marketing Managers to share information and assist in developing event strategies & plans that align with overall corporate & brand strategy. This job also involves coordination with other areas of Corporate Marketing & Strategy and external suppliers. Advisory: This job must interact with senior executives of the bank to provide briefing materials, advice & guidance

- Creating great client experiences - Increasing brand visibility in all markets where the bank does business - Making recommendations that significantly improve operational efficiency and effectiveness

Business Delivery and Operational Effectiveness (50%) - Design and delivery of consistently great client experiences - Provide guidance and recommendations as well as execution for internal & external conferences and events in support of cross-border groups. - Develop and obtain required budget and client strategy approvals from executives - Assist in the development and execution of annual event strategies to meet business objectives - Prepare briefing materials and coordinate event schedules for senior executives - Develop and manage event calendars - Assist in the development and implementation of event tracking mechanisms to assess program effectiveness and alignment with overall strategic goals - Provide credible advice and support to senior BMO executives during events and internal conferences - Identify and assess competitor conferences and events - Selection and oversight of promotional merchandise used at events.

Client and Relationship Management (40%) - Serve as a contact for, and interact with, senior BMO executives and clients as they participate in BMO events and conferences - Interact with senior BMO FG executives through briefings and meetings as they participate in events and conferences - Build and enhance relationships with external suppliers to provide best-in-class events and conferences - Represent BMO with professionalism, courtesy and integrity

Risk Management and Control (10%) - Responsibility for ensuring standards are applied to all conferences and events - Responsibility for quality control of conferences and events

Knowledge: - Minimum 2-3 years work experience in event management, including demonstrated project management expertise - University degree - Event Planning College Certificate considered an asset - Fundamental understanding of banking as well as knowledge of products and services - Strong understanding of strategies and objectives of individual groups across the organization - Awareness of financial services competitive marketplace and trends Skills: - Professional polish and ability to interact with very senior executives and clients. - Team player, motivated and committed, self-starter and quick learner, confident, assertive, strong interpersonal skills - Flexibility and ability to work in ambiguity and under pressure, as well as handle multiple projects simultaneously and resolve conflicts on site - Strong communicator - Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail - Solid written communication skills - Awareness of current affairs - Coaching, mentoring and development of staff needs - Ability to effectively manage large, complex budgets - Demonstrated ability to think strategically - Strong proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, Word & Adobe Acrobat - Skilled in project management - Ability to work across the organization
