Qualifications
  1. Current CCCPA Certification
  2. Bachelor’s Degree in Science or Medical Laboratory Technologist with advanced level courses in anatomy and physiology
  3. Graduate of Pathologist Assistant training program preferred
  4. Prior experience as a Pathologist Assistant
  5. CoPath and Dragon voice dictation experience an asset
  6. Understanding of fixation and tissue structure preservation
  7. Understanding of specimen sampling and impact on subsequent specimen processing
  8. Demonstrated good attendance and performance records with the ability to maintain these same standards
  9. Ability to perform tasks and assignments under pressure and time constrictions while remaining calm and composed
  10. Strong knowledge of anatomy and physiology with emphasis on the pathological presentation of disease
  11. Strong observational skills and exceptional attention to detail
  12. Strong knowledge of medical terminology
  13. Ability to work effectively as a member of a team and independently
  14. Ability to contribute and work within an interdisciplinary team
  15. Commitment to professional accountability and high standard of performance
  16. Computer literacy in windows based applications
  17. Working knowledge of laboratory safety requirements with a commitment to a healthy and safe workplace
  18. Ability to prioritize and work independently with minimal supervision
  19. Demonstrated excellence in communication, both written and verbal
  20. Demonstrated problem assessment skills
  21. Demonstrated commitment to customer service and teamwork
  22. Demonstrated individual leadership skills
