**Who We Are Looking For**:
**A Day to Day Look at the Role**:
As a Communicative Disorders Assistant, your day will be filled with hands-on activities that make a real difference in the lives of children. You’ll implement therapy or treatment plans designed by supervising speech-language pathologists, ensuring each session is engaging and tailored to the needs of the client. You’ll conduct both individual and group therapy sessions, utilizing creative and motivating techniques to support the children’s communication progress.

On any given day, you’ll collaborate with the children’s families, school staff, and clinicians to ensure everyone is aligned on the client’s goals and progress. You’ll maintain up-to-date client records, documenting key milestones and regularly communicating with the supervising clinician to keep everyone informed.

Additionally, you’ll prepare materials for therapy sessions, such as visual aids and progress reports, and assist with the development of individualized treatment plans. Team meetings will be part of your routine, where you’ll contribute to case discussions and treatment planning, while continually improving your knowledge through ongoing professional development.

**What You Need to Succeed**:

- A minimum of 1-year experience working with school-aged children in a clinical or homecare setting.
- Diploma from an accredited Communicative Disorders Assistant program.
- Proof of professional liability insurance.
- Membership or eligibility for membership with relevant professional associations is preferred.
- Valid Ontario driver’s license and reliable access to a vehicle.
- Proof of valid auto insurance.
- Completed Police Vulnerable Sector Check within the past 6 months.
- 2-step TB Skin Test (Mantoux) completed within the last 2 years.
- Ability to travel throughout York Region to serve clients.
- Knowledge of communication disorders and therapy techniques.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Proficiency with clinical software and technology for documentation and therapy.
- Understanding of privacy regulations and the importance of maintaining client confidentiality.
- Valid First Aid and CPR certification.
