UGE is growing quickly as a full-lifecycle developer (origination through ownership) and is looking to further grow its Operational Finance team. The Accounts Payable Clerk will be responsible for processing financial transactions primarily in the purchases and payables cycle.The Accounts Payable Clerk will be responsible for processing financial transactions primarily in the purchases and payables cycle. This person reports directly to the Assistant Controller.ResponsibilitiesPerform accounts payable function for the business unit and its subsidiaries, including matching, posting vendor invoices, reconciling vendor statements, obtaining appropriate approvals, and payment processing in a timely mannerVerify and process employee expense reports for reimbursementAssistance in general banking transactions, bank reconciliations, importing data from external sources, and filing documents as neededAssistance with annual external audit and management internal reviewsSupport the Operational Finance team with accounting for the business activities in North America and coordinate accounting matters with other departments as requiredQualificationsMinimum 1 year of experience in accounting and reporting functionsDiploma in accounting, business administration, finance, or a related fieldExperience with managing competing priorities in a fast-paced environmentPrevious experience at small entrepreneurial companies a plusExcellent Excel and organizational skillsAn understanding of internal controls and importance within the organizationStrong written and verbal communication skills, including email communicationAbility to work independently and in a team settingDetail-oriented with a problem-solving mindsetExperience with multi-entity and multi-currency organizations a plus.Benefits & CompensationCompetitive salary and incentive compensationSunlife health, dental, and vision insuranceSunlife Life InsuranceRRSP Employer MatchGenerous PTO policy (19 Vacation/Sick Days)Smart, collaborative, and fun team making a tangible impact on our transition to the clean energy future and health of our planet.Our workforce is about 80% remote.
