The Child Youth and Family Services (CYFS) at CAMH is located in the Garron Family Building at the redeveloped Queen Street Site of CAMH. As an integral part of the ambitious growth agenda for CAMH, the CYFS teams serve children, youth and emerging adults who have mental health and/or addiction challenges along with their families and caregivers. These services are closely aligned with our Research Centres including the McCain Centre for Child, Youth and Family Mental Health and the Cundill Centre for Child and Youth Depression.
CYFS is currently seeking a casual Case Worker (Child & Youth Workers) for the Better Behaviours Service and other Child and Youth Mental Health Services. Reporting to the Senior Manager, the successful candidate will perform assessments and provide case management, individual, group, and family treatment and document and implement behavioural treatment plans for children-youth with behavioural disorders. The candidate will collaborate in treatment fit assessments where client needs are assessed to match them with the most appropriate treatment along with research integration in the Better Behaviours Service. In addition, the successful candidate will demonstrate strength in interprofessional communication, collaboration and clinical facilitation. You will offer discipline-specific perspectives to the team regarding clinical care and program planning and will support the learning and practice of interdisciplinary learners on the clinical teams, who will be co-clinicians in treatment. You will collaborate with other clinicians to provide individual treatment (within child-youth and parent dyads) to children-youth and parents-caregivers, as well as co-facilitate social skills groups with other clinicians, using manualized curriculum. The candidate will complete timely clinical documentation regarding the clinical care being offered, and will collaborate with clients and families in transition/discharge planning. You will practice from a trauma-informed perspective. Other duties as assigned. Ability to work flexible hours is a requirement and evening hours will be required. This position is located at 80 Workman Way.
The successful candidate will possess a three (3) year Child and Youth Care Diploma. Membership in the Ontario Association of Child and Youth Counsellors in good standing is required. This education is to be supported by experience and training in childhood behavioural disorders with a combination of two or more years of clinical experience in related work. Demonstrated experience in co-facilitation of group programming for children, adolescents and parents is needed. The ability to provide culturally competent service to clients of diverse ethno racial and cultural backgrounds is essential and experience completing comprehensive clinical child and family mental health assessments as part of an interdisciplinary team is required. Excellent organizational, interpersonal and written communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment are also essential. Experience in developing and delivering training workshops and contributing to capacity building initiatives are essential. Computer skills, including word processing, electronic communication and workload measures are essential. Bilingualism (French/English) or proficiency in a second language would be an asset.
