Role Overview As part of the New Business team within TD Insurance, Private Client Advice, the Manager Business Development will be responsible for attracting, acquiring and retaining high net worth clientele through various acquisition channels. The incumbent will have a growth mindset, be solutions oriented, strategic, and deliver exceptional client service. The role will require an underwriting focus to protect the profitability of the high net worth portfolio. Face‑to‑face and over the phone interactions will be required. Responsibilities Conduct in‑depth discovery of client assets, financial goals, risk tolerance and create a comprehensive Insurance Plan with tailored high net worth strategies. Identify referral opportunities and work with TD partners to franchise each new client. Work collaboratively with various TD partners including Product, Pricing, Underwriting, Claims, high net worth inspectors. Retain and service your own book of business. Establish and maintain a solid network with TD Wealth to build a pipeline of prospects and focus on opportunities to franchise each client. Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge and understanding of TDI policies and procedures, industry trends and protect the interests and reputation of TDI and its clients by continuous compliance to them. Represent TDI and TDBG to the general public in a professional manner. Participate in the local community and support TDI charity and community initiatives. Participate fully as a member of the team and support a positive work environment that promotes the business' vision and legendary client experience. Binding authority of $10MM. Amplify the TD Insurance brand by having a solid understanding of community investment and impact; and strong connections in the Business community. Develop and maintain key relationships with clients and COIs within the community. Work with multiple internal business partners across the organization. Develop and lead the execution of Business Insurance Business Development Strategy. Accountable for amplifying the TD Insurance brand and the growth of businesses GWP portfolios – by deepening and fostering new relationships and driving new to TDI business. Assist in developing a best in class distribution model focusing on a superior customer experience and insurance advice at every interaction. Accountable to support driving new opportunities for PCA growth through new distribution channels, develop strategies and help with implementation to achieve desired goals and objectives. Lead the analysis required to inform strategic recommendations for HNW/UHNW categories, networks and retail brands that offer potential leads for PCA leveraging data, financials, consumer insights, industry trends and competition. Support PCA Segmentation development to apply in marketing and strategic partners and distribution channels to help drive future profitable growth. Lead discussions with PCA leadership and other key stakeholders across the organization to influence buy‑in of strategy and support for development and implementation. Collaborate with leaders, cross functional teams and external partners in support of the strategy, solutions and actions to accelerate growth, optimise delivery and the experience. Support the 5‑year strategy for PCA addressing new business (leads/quotes/sales), service experiences (retention/engagement), product development, and enhanced processes. Work with multiple internal business partners across the organization. Maintain a strong focus on collaboration within the OneTD framework to deepen relationships, enhance client experience, and contribute to integrated business success. Regular travel to TD branch locations required. Requirements An OTL license is required to be considered for this role (additional consideration may be provided to applicants with additional licensing). 5+ years experience working in insurance sales is required. Experience working in a commission‑based sales role is a strong asset. Strong customer relationship management skills. Previous experience managing high net worth clients is considered a strong asset. Proven ability to manage multiple projects, rapid and overlapping priorities and act with decisiveness and sound judgement. Innovative approach, always curious and values diversity of perspectives to uncover blind spots and solve challenges that may arise. Experience and proven skills working with and engaging across different areas and functions, including the ability to convey a compelling story and influence persuasively to a common goal.
