The Treatment Assistant Manager – Women’s Program is responsible for oversight of Harbour Light’s bed-based substance use treatment and recovery services for adult women. They supervise the Women’s Treatment counselling and support staff, program implementation, and administrative functions. The Assistant Manager – Women’s Program will work closely with the Treatment Program Manager and act in all respects as the Women’s Program Manager in their absence. They will work collaboratively with the Assistant Manager – Men’s Program and provide supervisory support to the Men’s Program in their absence.
  • Post-secondary diploma in Social Services, Psychology, Coaching, or related field.
  • Member in good standing with a Canadian counselling certification body, holding a designation such as ICADC, RCC, RPC, or equivalent is a strong asset.*
  • Ability to receive enhanced federal reliability status to work with federal correctional clients
  • Current Certification or willingness to obtain certification in:
    • First Aid/CPR
    • Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (or equivalent)
    • Mental Health First Aid
  • Documentation confirming compliance with the Province’s immunization and tuberculosis control program, per Residential Care Regulations
  • Proof of COVID vaccination, as required by the current version of the “Hospital and Community (Health Care And Other Services) Covid-19 Vaccination Status Information And Preventive Measures” Provincial Health Order
*Please note: candidates who are working towards a counselling certification, may be considered based on demonstrated equivalent combination of significant skilled knowledge, relevant professional experience, and lived experience. Experience and Skilled Knowledge Requirements
  • At least three years of related experience
  • At least two years of experience in recovery-focused substance use/addiction treatment services
  • At least two years of experience in a direct service (frontline) or management role serving women/female-identifying clients
  • At least one year of related supervisory experience, preferably in a unionized environment
  • Comprehensive knowledge of evidence-based, trauma-informed practices in addictions treatment, the principles of recovery, and motivational interviewing
  • Experience in a community care licensed facility is an asset
  • Lived experience is an asset; a minimum of three (3) years of stable recovery
