Reports directly to the Executive Chef and Pastry Chef de Cuisine; manages a pastry team of about 10 employees.Supervises and participates in the production of all pastry items for Eataly’s counters and restaurantsAssists in managing the pastry team: schedules; submits payroll; provides feedback and motivation; trains on Italian pastry production, principles and practices; coaches and counselsVerifies all foods prepared meet quality standards in terms of portion size, flavor, texture and consistencyProduces decorative centerpieces and special ordersOrders and requisitions all supplies for the pastry shopMaintains a clean and sanitary food production area according to Department of Health standardsPerforms other duties as required or assignedQualifications4+ years of experience in a high-volume pastry preparation positionKnowledge of Italian pastries and techniquesExcellent communication and leadership skillsIntermediate computer skillsDegree from a post-secondary culinary/pastry arts training program preferredAdditional InformationAvailability to work onsite with a flexible schedule often including evenings and weekendsAbility to lift up to 50 poundsAbility to exert well-paced mobility for up to 8 hours, including standing, walking, bending and squattingAbility to use a burning oven, commercial stand mixer and other pastry baking equipmentCompensation: This position pays an annual salary of $65k - $75k.Benefits and PerksMedical, Dental, Vision InsurancePaid Time OffPaid Parental Leave401K with match or RRSPBonus programFree family meal dailyDiscounts at EatalyClasses on products and Italian cuisineReferral bonus programand moreEataly is an equal employment opportunity employer.
