We are seeking a Pastry Chef to oversee pastry production, maintain consistency across our current dessert offerings, and support ongoing operations with precision and professionalism. This is a daytime-focused role with consistent hours and autonomy within a high-end, structured environment.

About the Role

The Pastry Chef manages all pastry production for Harmons Steakhouse, including our established dessert menu, daily prep, and pastry support for our sister restaurants. While there is room for thoughtful evolution in the future, our current dessert program is fully developed and not in need of immediate changes. The immediate priority is maintaining consistency, quality, and execution.

A key component of this role is the daily production of our signature popovers, executed to exacting standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and execute Harmons' current, established dessert menu to a high and consistent standard
  • Lead daily pastry production, including Harmons' signature popovers and morning buns
  • Produce and coordinate desserts and pastry items for our sister restaurants
  • Maintain standardized recipes, prep lists, and systems that support efficient, predictable service
  • Manage inventory, ordering, costing, and waste control for the pastry department
  • Collaborate with the Chef and Sous Chefs on workflow and service integration
  • Train and support cooks on pastry techniques, plating, and systems
  • Uphold exceptional cleanliness, organization, and food safety standards
  • Contribute new ideas or menu evolution as appropriate and in alignment with the restaurant's direction

Qualifications

  • 3–5+ years pastry experience in upscale or fine dining restaurants
  • Strong technical ability across pastry, baking, chocolate work, and plated desserts
  • Excellent time management, organization, and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently as the pastry lead while integrating with a larger culinary team
  • Commitment to consistency, standards, and maintaining an established program
  • A creative mindset ready to contribute when the time is right
