Family Practitioner/General Practitioner

Role and Facility Information Work with an experienced female practice partner in a 5‑physician clinic with a well‑established patient panel. You will work 2‑3 days in the clinic and share the ER call schedule, which involves 5‑6 shifts per month. Day‑shift calls are 6 hrs and night‑shift calls are 12 hrs. As a family physician, you also provide inpatient care at the hospital and our Long‑Term Care facility. Your practice partners are flexible and will work with you to determine the optimum schedule. Through the UBC Medical School we teach Family Practice residents and medical students completing the rural component of their training. They typically describe their experiences as invaluable Emergency call for full time is roughly 1:9, typically 1 × 12‑hour shift per week and 1:4 weekends per month. The ER shifts can be challenging but our ER is modern, well‑equipped and well‑supported. GPs also provide hospital and long‑term care coverage for local in‑patients. We receive MOCAP funding and Rural Emergency Enhancement Funding (REEF). Estimated remuneration $400,000+ per year for full time is possible. Benefits and Incentives May be eligible for additional remuneration in accordance with the Rural Subsidiary Agreement (RSA) including: Retention Premium 20.02%; Retention Flat Fee $31,025; Relocation Funding Available $9K, $12K, or $15K depending on whether in BC, out of province, or international; Recruitment Incentive $20,000. Other benefits/incentives: Rural CME $1,320 (years 1‑2), $3,520 (years 3‑4), $5,720 per year for 4 + years; MOCAP REEF rural incentives are subject to change and current rates are confirmed at time of offer. Candidates with a BC or Canada student loan may be eligible for loan‑forgiveness programs.
