This role is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing a wide range of food and general merchandise—including groceries, household items, clothing, electronics, and big-ticket goods—in bulk and at discounted prices. The ideal candidate will possess strong vendor management skills, a deep understanding of wholesale distribution, and a proven ability to optimize purchasing strategies in a high-volume retail environment.Key ResponsibilitiesProcure wholesale food and general merchandise, including groceries, household goods, apparel, electronics, and seasonal itemsResearch and analyze market trends to identify cost-effective purchasing opportunitiesNegotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with vendors and suppliersBuild and maintain strong supplier relationshipsMonitor inventory levels and reorder stock to ensure profitability and availabilityAssess supplier performance and product quality standardsEnsure adherence to health and safety regulationsAnalyze sales data to forecast purchasing needs and trendsManage procurement budgets and drive cost-efficiencyTrack and report key purchasing performance metricsApply merchandising principles such as space utilization, product placement, and unit cost analysisEvaluate store traffic and promotional impact on sales and profitabilityQualifications & ExperiencesMinimum 5‑7 years of experience in wholesale purchasing or distribution, preferably in food and general merchandiseBachelor’s degree in business, supply chain management, or a related fieldStrong negotiation and communication skillsProficiency in inventory and procurement systems; advanced Excel skills preferredKnowledge of market trends and consumer preferencesAbility to work independently in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environmentCertified Purchasing Manager (CPM) or similar credentialExcellent organizational and multitasking abilitiesProficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)Strong analytical skills and attention to detailUnderstanding of supply chain management principlesCompensation & BenefitsCompetitive salary commensurate with experiencePerformance‑based incentivesEmployee discount programOpportunities for professional development and career advancementSupportive and collaborative work environment #J-18808-Ljbffr
