Social Worker 2 - Gender Identity Clinic (Access to Care) Join to apply for the Social Worker 2 - Gender Identity Clinic (Access to Care) role at CAMH. The Gender Identity Clinic at CAMH is currently seeking a part‑time, temporary (6 months) Social Worker 2 to join our specialized outpatient service located at 60 White Squirrel Way. The clinic provides comprehensive assessments for gender‑affirming surgeries and time‑limited support for individuals experiencing gender dysphoria or seeking assistance related to their gender identity. To learn more about CAMH, please visit their website at: www.camh.ca. As a member of an interprofessional team, the Social Worker will deliver client‑centered, trans‑affirming care. Core responsibilities include conducting psychosocial assessments and evaluating readiness for gender‑affirming surgeries in alignment with the most current WPATH guidelines, facilitating group programming, managing intake, referrals and triage processes, and providing individual, couple and family support. The role may also involve delivering psycho‑educational and therapeutic interventions using modalities such as CBT, DBT or CPT. The clinician will maintain accurate documentation, conduct mental status assessments, monitor client responses to care and ensure ongoing communication with internal team members and external health partners. Additional duties may include supervising students, contributing to public education initiatives and participating in research or program evaluation activities. A strong commitment to reducing transphobia and fostering an inclusive, anti‑oppressive, and recovery‑oriented environment is essential. Job Requirements A Master of Social Work (MSW) degree. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to complete detailed reports, psychosocial assessments, and clinical documentation accurately and efficiently. Current registration and good standing with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW). Demonstrated competence in performing the controlled act of psychotherapy, including completion of the OCSWSSW checklist. A minimum of two years of post‑graduate experience in a mental health and/or addictions setting. Experience working with transgender, non‑binary and gender‑diverse individuals. Strong clinical judgment, collaborative skills, and a demonstrated commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion in mental health care. Familiarity with emergency psychiatry, crisis intervention, substance use and severe and persistent mental illness is an asset. Advanced training and/or certification in evidence‑based therapies such as CBT, DBT or CPT is preferred. Preference for candidates who have completed at least three years of entry‑to‑practice clinical supervision and accumulated 2 000 to 3 000 hours of supervised psychotherapy practice related to the interventions used in this role. If not yet in independent practice, candidates who are required to practice with clinical supervision will have a formal supervisory relationship arranged by CAMH as a condition of hire. Eligibility for an adjunct faculty appointment with one of CAMH’s affiliated faculties of Social Work.
