Position Overview

Lumentum’s Ottawa, Canada location is starting the production of a high speed, high precision 3D camera using state-of-the-art optical technology. You will be part of a nimble and fast-moving production team that will be providing high quality product to many of the world’s top automotive manufacturers.

Key Responsibilities

The 3D Camera Production Assembler, Intermediate responsibilities would include but not be limited to the following:

  • Performs a wide variety of product assembly operations on electronic, mechanical, and optical components, assemblies, or sub-assemblies.
  • Determines and/or follows methods and sequence of operations in tasks related to optical fiber handling and management, optical component placement, UV curing, wiring, component installation, hand soldering, and making cable assemblies.
  • Responsible for maintaining quality standards by inspecting and testing finished products to ensure conformance with specifications and codes.
  • Work with engineering and production teams.
  • Use sophisticated programs to track and control components through the production process.

Core Skills

  • Motor skills for fine assembly.
  • Ability to detect defects in optical, mechanical, and electrical parts.
  • Technical knowledge of PCB designs and component technologies.
  • Familiar with optical fiber splicing, handling, and testing.
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Capability to work independently to a production schedule.

Education Qualifications

  • High School Diploma, Technical Certification.

Desired Skills & Qualifications

  • At least 3 years work experience.
  • Knowledgeable about lean manufacturing techniques.
