Senior Applications Systems Analyst - NetSuite

Summary

Reporting to the Director - Financial Systems, the Senior Application Systems Analyst - NetSuite is primarily responsible for the administration, maintenance, and user support of the NetSuite ERP in addition to other finance systems within Dexterra Group. Working closely with the Corporate Finance and Business Operations group, the analyst ensures application development and maintenance, user access and systems stability, training, and resolution of issues that may arise for prompt and accurate financial accounting and reporting on monthly/quarterly/annual financial results. This position also supports the Director - Financial Systems with investigations, documentation, testing, education, and problem solving related to financial systems projects.

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Harmonization of disparate ERP systems to one singular platform for areas not currently on NetSuite.
  2. Maintenance and some development of critical business systems such as NetSuite, MS Dynamics SL, and a modern Azure data warehouse and tabular model with Power BI.
  3. Ensure compliance with and maintain internal controls documentation for information technology and governance control (ITGC) review.
  4. Ensure continuous improvement by developing and refining month-end processes to streamline procedures and create efficiencies which enable timely and accurate financial reporting.
  5. Assist in the creation and setup of corporate financial reporting packages from the various systems.
  6. Assist Business with forecast cycle through preparation and updates of budget templates.
  7. Defining and documenting customer business functions and processes.
  8. Documenting stakeholder requirements and collaborating with all necessary stakeholders.
  9. Testing software based on Dexterra Group's best practices and specifications.
  10. Responsible for supporting the achievement of Service Level Expectations (SLE) for supported applications.
  11. Developing and maintaining an effective work intake and management process.
  12. Supporting investigations, documentation, testing, education, and problem solving related to financial systems projects, as assigned by the Director - Financial Systems.

Qualifications

  1. Bachelor's degree or technical diploma from an accredited institution in Computer Science, Information Technology (IT) or related field.
  2. 5+ years of IT experience working as a Functional, Data, Application or Business Analyst.
  3. Proven experience with NetSuite implementation is a must.
  4. Experience in the manufacturing sector is an added plus.
  5. Experience with OneStream, Oracle Hyperion EPM or similar planning and consolidation tools, Power BI and/or MS SQL Server considered an asset.
  6. Solid understanding of business processes and supporting technologies.
  7. Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  8. Demonstrated team player with ability to learn quickly.
  9. Aptitude to understand and resolve complex issues, and excellent customer-service skills.
  10. Well-developed analytical skills.
  11. Ability to see areas for process improvement.
  12. Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage a fluctuating workload and set priorities to meet deadlines.
  13. Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  14. Ability to make decisions, participate and help facilitate organizational change.
  15. Ability to manage and mentor a co-op student.
  16. A results-oriented team player with the ability to develop and maintain collaborative working relationships within all levels of the organization.
