EBC is the ideal place to take on new challenges and advance your career.ResponsibilitiesTendering on unsecured work (Jointly with Estimator)Receive Q&A, distribute and issue addenda/amendmentsComplete bid‑leveling exercises, including scope gaps/overlapsReview and recommend successful bidder(s) with rationale to project teamObtain Schedule A and compilation contract: short form, long formDistribute executed subcontracts internally and distribute Schedule ASubcontractsIssue letters to unsuccessful bidders following Subcontract awardsDraft/prepare subcontracts (scope, flow‑downs, exhibits)Review and treat requests for contractual amendment from subcontractors in consultation with department and legalBudget/Financial Management & AccountingParticipate in the monthly progress report and update on schedule events and changesCommunication (Commercial/Contractual)Produce and submit delay noticesMaintain the Claims log (events, changes etc.)Quality Management (Process Performance)Track and log RFIs for timeline impactControl & report submittal turnaround performance – Shop Drawings, RFI’s, Change OrdersEnsure impacts are illustrated into the master schedule and produce supporting narrativeContracts ManagementIssue Notices of Back charge when applicableRecord, compile, and regularly present back charges to subsChange ManagementReceive, file, and distribute Change OrdersBe responsible for submitting Changes Price to Owner on timeFollow up with subs to obtain timely pricing with EstimatorEstablish the general account (EBC costs) in consultationPrepare draft change requests for internal reviewSubmit change(s) to Owner’s representative with backupMonitor all changes and maintain the change log (register, status, aged items)Return client comments to subs; coordinate revise-and‑resubmitReview and master drawings/specs to identify risk, change triggers, and compliance requirements impacting cost/timeSchedule & Planning (Commercial Interface)Work closely with scheduler to ensure Change, Instructions, RFI are integrated into schedule with impact illustrationMonitor the flow of information and delay (RFI, CO etc.)RequirementsBachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Business Administration, Finance, or a related fieldA minimum of 8 years of experience in the construction industry, including at least 5 years in a senior commercial or contract management role within a general contracting environmentProven experience managing the commercial and contractual aspects of large‑scale construction projectsStrong understanding of contract models such as CCDC, PPP, DB, DBF, and DBFMDemonstrated ability to review, draft, and negotiate contracts, manage risk, and oversee claims and change management processesExcellent financial acumen with experience in project budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and performance reportingSolid knowledge of procurement, subcontractor management, and vendor negotiations.Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across operations, finance, and executive teamsStrategic thinker capable of identifying commercial opportunities and risks to support project and organizational objectivesDetail‑oriented, analytical, and solutions‑driven, with strong negotiation and decision‑making skillsBilingualism (English/French) is an assetWillingness to travel to project sites as requiredConditions offered by EBC5 weeks of annual vacationFlexible group insurance program upon entryGroup RRSP with employer contribution to a Deferred Profit‑Sharing Plan (DPSP)Corporate clothing program upon hiring24‑hour access to a virtual doctor (telemedicine)Training and development programsEmployee assistance programDiverse, innovative and stimulating environmentA company built on values of respect, integrity and a job well doneFirm recognized as one of Canada’s Best Managed CompaniesIn accordance with our policy, we will communicate only with the selected candidates for an interview.NOTICE TO RECRUITMENT AGENCIES, PLACEMENT SERVICES AND PROFESSIONAL RECRUITERSEBC inc. and its affiliated entities (“EBC”) have an internal recruiting department.
