Job Title: DevOps Specialist- Power Platform Location: Edmonton, Alberta (Remote) Mode: Contract Job Description: Collaboration and Content Services (CCS) requires a skilled SharePoint and Power Platform Specialist to design, develop, and maintain custom business applications using Microsoft Power Apps, and Power Automate. This involves upgrading legacy SharePoint 2016 sites that utilize form services (InfoPath, Nintex) and SharePoint designer workflows to modernize SharePoint Online solutions using Microsoft 365 tools. Duties: Develop scalable SharePoint Online solutions using Power Platform tools (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI) Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business requirements into functional solutions Integrate Power Apps as needed with SharePoint Online, Dataverse, or other data sources Design intuitive user interfaces and workflows to enhance user experience Implement Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) within the Power Platform environments pipelines Ensure compliance with GoA policies, standards, and security protocols. Produce as built architectural documentation Provide technical guidance and training to end-users and internal teams Education: The proposed resource must meet or exceed one of the following: University graduation in computer science or a related discipline and 4-yr relevant experience OR 2-year diploma in computer science or a related discipline and 6-year relevant experience OR I-yr certificate in computer science or a related field discipline and 7 years of relevant experience: OR a currently active professional certification or accreditation and 8 years of relevant experience Work Experience Mandatory Skills: Experience in collecting requirements, analyzing, designing, or implementing Microsoft Power Platform products and services (on‑premises or cloud environments). Experience completing migration of applications and technologies between environments (e.g., data centers, platforms, or from on‑premise to cloud). Experience preparing and documenting materials for User Acceptance Testing (UAT). Experience troubleshooting forms and workflows across multiple types (e.g., InfoPath, Nintex, Power Automate). Experience managing complex SharePoint projects, including those involving managed metadata, workflows, forms, and user interface customization. Experience developing integrated system and technical design specifications for enterprise content management systems. Nice to Have Skills: Active Microsoft Certifications, such as Power Platform App Maker Associate or Power Apps Developer Associate. Experience upgrading Microsoft SharePoint environments (e.g., from 2013 to 2016 or 2016 to SharePoint Online). Experience using and supporting ShareGate for migration and governance. Experience with the Government of Alberta’s IT/IM policies, standards, and guidelines. Experience using SharePoint Central Administration for environment management and configuration.
