This remote work engineering position offers the opportunity to lead our DevOps and SRE practices, enhancing our award‑winning whole body scan platform.

Key Responsibilities

- Assume technical leadership of our Terraform‑based IaC platform, evaluating its current state and spearheading future enhancements.

- Collaborate with software engineering teams to develop and implement cloud‑native architectures, optimize deployment pipelines, and contribute to Python‑based codebases.

- Enhance and scale our CI/CD processes utilizing GitHub Actions, focusing on artifact packaging, environment promotion, and automated testing/release workflows.

- Develop and implement a comprehensive global infrastructure strategy to ensure scalability and resilience across multiple regions.

- Advance our disaster recovery and incident response plans, ensuring high availability for all critical systems.

- Implement and uphold cloud networking and security best practices, including IAM, global VPC architecture, and secrets management.

- Lead improvements in system observability and performance monitoring with Datadog APM, utilizing metrics, logs, and alerting to preemptively tackle issues.

- Promote and integrate SRE principles across teams, focusing on SLIs, SLOs, and error budgets.

- Act as a technical mentor and strategic thought partner, elevating team capabilities while driving significant platform enhancements.

Required Qualifications

- Expertise in Terraform at scale, ideally within diverse cloud environments such as AWS.

- Proficiency in container orchestration technologies like Kubernetes (K8s), Amazon ECS, and Serverless frameworks, with a track record of managing production environments.

- Advanced Python programming skills and a thorough understanding of application internals and deployment strategies.

- Deep knowledge of GitHub Actions for CI/CD, including crafting custom workflows and managing multi‑environment pipelines.

- Strong foundation in network architecture, security principles, and cloud‑native infrastructure patterns.

- Experience with monitoring and observability tools, particularly Datadog, and skilled in using data to drive system improvements.

- A proactive, strategic thinker ready to introduce and implement innovative solutions and drive technological progress.
