We’re on the hunt for a Member of Technical Staff (MTS) - Systems Security in our Geointelligence Engineering Team at our Nepean office.

The Position

As a Member of Technical Staff (MTS) - Systems Security, you would have responsibilities for security elements of MDA’s Earth Observation space missions, large defence contracts such as CSC and diverse in-house developed products spanning from cloud-based geointelligence platforms to our Laser Warning and Countermeasures system.

Role

As a member of the Security Engineering team for Geointelligence, you will ensure expert support is provided to various product/project teams to ensure that they address the security target and comply with applicable policies, procedures and standards.

Responsibilities

As a Member of Technical Staff (MTS) - Systems Security, you may have a wide range of responsibilities that include:

Develop and maintain all security-related system artefacts (e.g. specifications, ICDs, profiles, test documents, vulnerability assessments, threat models, customer reports, etc.) for projects in development or in-service;Derive security requirements, designs, solutions and mechanisms in response to current DND security focus including CSE Security Controls and Directives;Support engineering program delivery through the development and generation of security components of documents such as engineering plans, engineering budgets, and design reports;Support planning and cost estimates for projects and bids.
  • A degree or diploma in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology or relevant experience in Systems Security.
  • 5+ years working in an engineering or information systems environment;
  • Certified Information System Security Professional (CISSP);
  • Understanding of DND project delivery and execution processes from requirements through commissioning and support;
  • Exceptional leadership skills, problem-solving abilities and project execution strengths.
  • Experience in Network Defense principles and practices, User Security Management, Information Security, Vulnerability Management and Threat Risk Assessment;
  • Hands-On experience with Microsoft Enterprise network suite, SIEMs, vulnerability assessment tools;
  • Familiarity with requirements management software such as DOORS;
  • Certifications such as Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP), or Certified in Governance, Risk and Compliance Certification (CGRC).

Comments/Special Considerations:

Successful candidates must obtain and hold security clearance at the SECRET status level, and pass security assessment for the Controlled Goods Program (CGP).
