Our valued Public Sector Client is looking for a Senior IT Security Systems Operator to help modernize their capability in Cyber Security.

This team of contractors will be helping defend networks in support of deployments. The team of contractors will be responsible for detecting, analyzing and responding to critical network or host-based incidents on Government Networks. They will provide services across Cyber Mission Assurance, Digital Forensics and Incident Response.

Responsibilities:
  • Review, analyze and/or apply:
  1. Networking Protocols (HTTP, FTP, Telnet)
  2. Internet security protocols (for example: SSL, S-HTTP, S-MIME, IPSec, SSH)
  3. TCP/IP, UDP, DNS, SMTP
  4. Directory Standards such as X.400, X.500, and SMTP
  5. Network routers, multiplexers and switches
  6. Network hardening (for example: shell scripting, service identification)
  7. Wireless technology
  8. Technical threats to, and vulnerabilities of, networks
  9. Technical IT Security safeguards
  10. IT software and hardware security products
  11. Configure operating systems such as MS, Unix, Linux and Novell
  12. Configure IT Security management
  13. Configure intrusion detection systems, firewalls and content checkers, extracting and analyzing reports and logs, and responding to security incidents;
  • Configure/update virus scanners;
  • Complete tasks directly supporting the departmental IT Security and Cyber Protection Program;
  • Develop and deliver training material relevant to the resource category.

Must Haves:
  • Secret Clearance
  • Masters in Computer Science or Computer Engineering field.
  • 2+ years as an IT Security Systems Operator.
  • 2+ years working on configuring intrusion detection systems and firewalls.
  • 2+ years working on various operating systems (Linux and MS).
  • 1+ projects employing or leading server/network firewall configurations.
  • 2+ projects employing virtualized environments (VMWare).
