Job Summary:

We are seeking a motivated and creative Business Development Coordinator with at least one to two years of experience in sales/business development and marketing to support our marketing team in executing campaigns, managing digital channels, and driving brand awareness. As a key player in our marketing department, you will help implement strategies to grow our audience, enhance engagement, and contribute to the overall success of our marketing efforts.

This position is supported by government funding.

The candidate must also be:

  • 15 to 30 years of age at the start of the program
  • A post-secondary graduate
  • A Canadian citizen, permanent resident of Canada or person granted refugee status in Canada
  • Legally entitled to work according to the relevant provincial legislation and regulations
  • A first-time participant in a Youth Employment and Skills Strategy work experience program targeted at post-secondary graduates

Key Responsibilities:

  • Business Development & Day to Day Sales calls and follow-up
  • Coordinating the CRM and follow-up via email and call and attending meetings and promoting product
  • Campaign Support: Assist in the planning, execution, and monitoring of marketing campaigns across various channels (email, social media, content marketing, etc.).
  • Content Creation: Develop engaging and creative content for marketing materials such as blog posts, social media updates, newsletters, and promotional materials.
  • Social Media Management: Help manage and update social media platforms, engage with followers, and track key performance metrics.
  • Market Research: Conduct market research to gather insights on customer behavior, trends, and competitor activities to inform marketing strategies.
  • Analytics and Reporting: Track and analyze the performance of marketing campaigns using analytics tools. Provide regular reports on KPIs and suggest improvements.
  • Email Marketing: Assist in creating and managing email marketing campaigns, including drafting content, segmenting lists, and analyzing performance.
  • Event Support: Assist with the coordination of marketing events, including trade shows, webinars, and promotional events.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams (sales, product, design) to ensure marketing initiatives align with business goals and branding.

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience: At least 1 year of experience in business development or sales.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Skills:
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
    • Experience with social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter, etc.) and social media management tools.
    • Familiarity with email marketing platforms (e.g., Mailchimp, Constant Contact).
    • Basic knowledge of SEO and Google Analytics is a plus.
  • Attributes:
    • Creative and detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities.
    • Self-motivated and able to work independently or in a team setting.
    • Ability to manage multiple projects with attention to deadlines.
    • A passion for marketing and staying up-to-date with industry trends.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with content management systems (CMS) such as WordPress.
  • Knowledge of graphic design software (Adobe Photoshop, Canva, etc.) is a plus.
  • Familiarity with paid advertising campaigns (Google Ads, Facebook Ads) is a plus.

Candidate needs to be at the office at least 2 times per week in downtown Toronto.
