Business Development Representative

OpportunityMillennium is seeking a results-driven Business Development Representative to play a key role in expanding our commercial insurance portfolio. In this newly created position, you will be responsible for identifying and securing new business opportunities, strengthening broker partnerships, and representing Millennium’s commercial division in high-potential markets—particularly across the Prairies and Eastern Canada. This is a great fit for a proactive, relationship-focused insurance professional with a passion for strategic growth, market development, and building meaningful partnerships within the commercial insurance space. Responsibilities As the Commercial BDR, you’ll be a frontline ambassador for Millennium, forging strong partnerships with brokers and uncovering profitable commercial business opportunities. Proactively identify, prospect, and cultivate new commercial business opportunities. Build and cultivate trusted relationships with broker partners—new and existing. Collaborate closely with underwriting and stakeholders to convert opportunities into bound business. Represent Millennium at industry events and networking functions. Leverage data, insights, and market intelligence to uncover untapped broker relationships and emerging markets. Deliver on targets related to new business acquisition, broker engagement, and regional penetration—particularly across the Prairie provinces and Eastern Canada. Be a key brand ambassador—championing Millennium’s appetite, capabilities, and commitment to service excellence. Travel across Canada as needed to support business development efforts. What you bring to the team Proven ability to create, maintain, and grow productive relationships with brokers and partners. A blend of big-picture thinking and hands-on execution. Minimum 3 years of experience in a leadership or client-facing role within commercial insurance. Deep understanding of commercial underwriting practices, market trends, and the broker landscape in Canada. Strong business acumen, negotiation skills, and an entrepreneurial drive to succeed. Excellent communication skills—both written and verbal. Bachelor’s degree in Business, Risk Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience). Bonus points for CIP, CRM, FCIP or equivalent.
