Job Description

This role as a Senior Risk Specialist in our Global Corporate & Specialty division will involve supporting the Aviva Risk Management Solutions (ARMS) team and associated property and casualty underwriting community by conducting surveys and completing risk engineering reports.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Conduct field risk consulting services for a wide range of properties, including residential and commercial buildings.
  2. Develop technical property risk engineering reports and other related documents based on the findings from the field surveys.
  3. Manage account portfolios and provide risk consulting services to Aviva's prevention and underwriting requirements.
  4. Provide guidance to underwriting teams on property risk management and assist in resolving identified deficiencies.
  5. Maintain high-quality risk engineering services to ARMS standards, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.
  6. Collaborate with management, colleagues, and partners to develop, support, and enhance risk and insurance services.
Requirements:
  1. University degree or equivalent in a related technical field.
  2. Ability to read and assess sprinkler, fire pump, and suppression system plans, as well as architectural, structural, mechanical, and electrical plans.
  3. Proficiency in MS Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  4. Strong technical writing skills and ability to communicate effectively with peers, customers, and industry contacts.
  5. Experience with contractors and builder's risk, as well as energy, renewable energy, and mining operations.
  6. Ability to analyze business interruption and extra expense worksheets.
  7. Advanced technical degree or certification in risk management is an asset.
