The Business Systems Analyst is integral to the success of the Technology & IT Services Management team, and to CAAT’s guiding mission and growth strategy.

Reporting to the Manager, Employer Portal, you will provide primary and secondary BSA support for a suite of business systems through issue tracking, problem determination and resolution, documentation, testing, and change management. You will be supporting the acquisition, development, and implementation of new business systems, providing support for all phases of assigned system development and implementation projects.

We are looking for someone with:
  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience in progressive Business Systems Analysis roles
  • Post-secondary degree or diploma
  • Data Analysis fundamentals, including advanced knowledge of SQL query-writing
  • High degree of IT systems knowledge, business functions, and an obsession with optimizing processes and quality
  • In-depth experience with SDLC within an enterprise environment
  • Experience following ITIL standards, such as Incident Response and Change Management
  • Familiarity with key service and delivery frameworks, including Agile and Scrum, and DevSecOps
  • IIBA-AAC, CSPO, CSM certifications
  • Experience with pension systems
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and deal with shifting priorities
  • Experience working on an Agile product team
  • Experience with MS Visio, Figma, or similar diagramming/workflow tools
  • Out-of-the-box thinking and eagerness to learn new and emerging technologies
Once here you will:
  • Tactfully elicit agile requirements following an agile methodology, preparing clear and succinct acceptance criteria
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to gain an appropriate depth and breadth of understanding of the IT team's processes, tools, infrastructure, and future needs
  • Work in partnership with internal teams during the design and implementation of Technology and Systems improvements
  • Analyze problems and needs of a business unit to determine how its people, data, processes, communications, and information technology can best accomplish improvements
  • Support testing teams/activities: test plan/case consultation and manage defect triage
  • Work closely with business teams to identify process improvements and define business requirements
  • Create and maintain accurate, up-to-date technical documentation
  • Provide expert support for application maintenance, modification, and enhancement
  • Create simple and complex reports from applications using BI tools like Power BI or third-party products
