In British Columbia, JPD is active in the development of new projects including multi‑family condo and rental residential, industrial, and retail commercial. Base pay range CA$120,000.00/yr – CA$140,000.00/yr Your new role Reporting to the Vice President, Asset Management, the Asset Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing a portfolio of retail properties primarily located in BC (Vancouver Island and Interior) and will work with other departments of the company such as property management, accounting, development and construction. The role encompasses comprehensive lease management, including handling new leases, renewals, and terminations, as well as tenant improvements. It involves close collaboration with real estate brokers for third‑party negotiations, scrutinizing lease documents, and strategizing to enhance revenue and property optimization. The position requires a deep understanding of market conditions to inform decision‑making and contribute to the development of shopping centers and facilities, ensuring design, tenant mix, and feasibility align with leasing objectives. Operational goals are met by coordinating with property management, while financial oversight includes managing budgets, monitoring costs, and handling accounting tasks like forecasting and reconciliations. The role also entails managing tenant relations, resolving disputes, and working with various stakeholders, including legal counsel and consultants, to monitor their performance. Additionally, general office administration and travel to properties within a specific region are part of the responsibilities. What you need to succeed The ideal candidate is a dynamic, collaborative and driven individual that is passionate about developing a career in real estate. You are an excellent communicator with strong business and financial acumen. You are a self‑starter but also love to learn and soak up knowledge from those around you. JPD are open to considering candidates with 5 years real‑estate experience (leasing, asset management, property management, etc.) with a relevant degree or professional designation plus strong interpersonal skills. Most importantly, you have a positive attitude, genuine interest in real estate and strong negotiation skills. What you get in return In exchange for your hard work and commitment, you will earn an attractive compensation package including a competitive base salary of CA$120,000–CA$140,000 (commensurate with experience level), a bonus and RRSP matching.
