Position Overview:
Reporting directly to the Capacity and Capability Manager, the Service Asset Manager will be key in developing & executing the Finning Network Tool Management Strategy. This role will oversee creative transformation of our Tool Network while providing managerial oversight to the operational and administrative requirements of the Finning Canada Tool Lab located in Surrey, BC., including its supporting tool crib & buyer network operations people located at our RRR facilities in Alberta, BC & Saskatchewan. This role requires an organized dynamic process-oriented leader who will be accountable for managing the installation and sustainment of our New Network Tool Management System, while providing an active lens toward service improvement, tool placement optimization, and expense reduction. The Service Asset Manger will be responsible for building robust action & process plans, centered around tool repair, testing & maintenance, and tool inventory check-in/out at each of our facility location tool cribs, while ensuring our service and tool deployment is both efficient and practical for our business customers.
**Job Description**:
- Manage and lead the organization’s Tool Lab function (40%). Manage the processes for tooling calibration, repair/maintenance, and replacement. Maintain ISO certification for Tool Lab Calibration Functions. Develop strategies to support the approval of tooling purchases across the network.
- Manage operational tool cribs for all facilities in Finning (Canada) (automated and resourced) (60%). Create, update and refine a 5-year rolling facility small tooling plan to ensure its continued alignment with Cap & Cap and the Long-Term Network Strategy and Finning (Canada) business objectives. Liaise with and create key relationships with all facility service departments and their required small tooling to ascertain the business unit objectives and ongoing operations. Lead Tool Crib prioritization, budgeting and planning and ultimate successful operational execution over a rolling 5-year planned growth cycle strategy. Bring specific technical, management, or other related knowledge to bare on specific or strategic and operational capability understanding to ensure the best possible outcomes for Finning (Canada). To provide and ensure best value for Finning Canada’s operational tooling expenditures. Ensure facility tool crib layouts are congruent to an efficient layout. Lead the implementation & cataloguing of the New Tool Management System. Lead the coordination of tool movement across the network to support repair execution efficiency and safety. Support the quarterly inventory of tool cribs and service trucks across the network to ensure tooling is accounted for. Develop periodic inventory audit practices and optimization report review.

- ISO process management understanding
- Knowledge of Winward / Tool Management Software Systems
Education & Experience
- Business education and experience is considered an asset
- People management experience in both union and non-union environments
- Operational Management experience
- Previous experience in tool maintenance, repair, calibration, and warranty
- HET experience is considered an asset
