Team Lead, Facility AssessmentsJoin BGIS as a Team Lead for our Facility Assessment consulting practice, responsible for executing and overseeing facility assessment deliverables. The role requires leading a team, applying project management principles, and maintaining high standards of customer service and data integrity.Key Duties and ResponsibilitiesLead a technical assessor and project manager on firm-specific programs, including commercial, institutional and industrial client sites across North America.Drive launch of new business services, pilot programs and tools, and mentor team members to meet role expectations.Prepare proposals and define scope, deliverables, requirements, timelines, and budgets.Communicate with program/project stakeholders about logistics, schedules, progress, and health & safety issues.Document and maintain full Building Condition Assessment (BCA) processes for each client program.Conduct asset assessments using specialized knowledge and assessment management software.Identify and evaluate component and systems conditions and deficiencies.Produce condition reports and provide cost estimates for repair or renewal for capital budgeting.Incorporate best practices to optimize delivery and client value.Prioritize tasks across multiple programs and travel 20‑40% annually for site visits.Project ManagementSupport overall end‑to‑end management of assessment programs.Lead projects under supervision, identify risks, and implement mitigation plans.Maintain and track project schedules, work orders, and deliverables in dashboards.Implement client‑specific reporting tools and technologies.Communicate monthly project status and schedules to stakeholders.Update staff training processes and documents.Perform additional duties as assigned.Technical ReviewsConduct weekly technical reviews of report submissions.Provide feedback on data quality control and detailed deliverables.Track progress and identify costs and risks of non‑compliance.Program Financial ManagementTrack monthly financials, update financial software, and monitor deliverables.People Team LeadershipEnsure timely, high‑quality deliverables from the team.Model mature team leadership with emotional intelligence.Participate in recruitment and mentoring of team members.Provide technical feedback and quality control.Enforce adherence to processes and maintain safety certifications.Resolve emergencies and adapt to change.Promote new initiatives and uphold ethical standards.Knowledge and SkillsUniversity degree or college diploma in architecture, engineering, or building science.Professional designation (P.Eng, BSS, EIT, etc.).5‑10 years of relevant experience.Familiarity with ASTM E2018‑15 and other industry standards.Understanding of building envelope, mechanical & electrical systems, and site components.Knowledge of national and provincial codes and accessibility standards.Advanced cost estimating for maintenance, repair, and renewal.Strong project management, documentation, and communication skills.Ability to multi‑task, adapt, and learn new technology.Detail‑oriented with proficiency in reading architectural/MEP drawings and MS Office.Ability to work at heights.Licenses and/or Professional AccreditationProfessional designations in engineering, architecture, or building sciences.PMP certification (asset).BSS designation (asset).LEED certification (asset).Valid driver’s license, passport, and vehicle access.BGIS is an equal opportunity employer.
