The goal is to build a fully validated smartphone‑based system that can be used in clinical diagnostics, rehabilitation, and athletic performance monitoring.Project Details• Design and validate algorithms for real‑time pose estimation from RGB, RGB‑depth, and marker‑based motion‑capture data.• Conduct human‑participant experiments, curate datasets, and evaluate model performance in real‑world scenarios.• Translate research outcomes into tools that can be adopted by clinicians and sports professionals.Candidate ProfileFor Research Assistantship• BSc, MSc, or PhD in Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Kinesiology, or related field.• Hands‑on experience with motion‑capture systems (marker‑based or RGB).• (Asset) Experience with human‑participant experiments, including protocol development and data collection.• This is an in‑person position; preference for domestic candidates for immediate start.For Graduate (PhD/MSc) Studentships• BSc or MSc in Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.• Demonstrated expertise in computer‑vision and deep‑learning for human pose estimation.• Proficiency in Python and familiarity with MATLAB.• (Asset) Experience with motion‑capture systems and with conducting human‑participant experiments.Application ProcessApplications are reviewed on a rolling basis until the positions are filled.
