Direct message the job poster from CEM Engineering The ideal candidate will lead the financial planning, analysis, and reporting activities for our firm and oversee the day-to-day accounting and payroll operations of our engineering firm. Key Responsibilities Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including AP/AR, payroll coordination, expense tracking, and month-end close. Maintain and reconcile the general ledger, ensuring accuracy in all financial records. Manage and reconcile project-based financials, including job costing, WIP schedules, and revenue recognition. Collaborate with project managers and engineers to ensure proper project setup, billing, and financial tracking. Produce timely financial reports and dashboards for internal stakeholders. Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis with guidance from the Director of Finance. Monitor cash flow, manage bank reconciliations, and track key financial metrics. Support the implementation of internal controls and process improvements. Liaise with external accountants, tax preparers, and vendors as needed. Help manage project-based accounting and job costing related to engineering services. Maintain and improve accounting systems. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies. General supervision of all accounting staff. Skills and Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field CPA designation (complete or in final stages) 5-7 years’ experience within a small to medium-sized organization Solid experience and knowledge in dealing with accounting systems, budgets, internal controls, business planning, and asset management Working knowledge and experience with ADP Workforce Now payroll software Proficiency with Microsoft Office productivity suite, and general accounting software Excellent organizational skills Expert knowledge in finance and accounting procedures and regulations Strong analytical and leadership skills Ability to work under pressure and on tight deadlines Outstanding communication skills, both oral and written Exceptional reporting skills Customer Focus Decision Making and Judgement Problem Solving Ethics and Integrity Seniority level Mid-Senior level Employment type Full-time Job function Finance and Accounting/Auditing Industries Business Consulting and Services and Engineering Services #J-18808-Ljbffr
