**Position**: Manager of Outpatient Rehabilitation Services and Specialty Clinics
**Position Type**: Regular Full-Time

**Position Objective**:
Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Manager of Finance at Hotel Dieu Shaver Health and Rehabilitation Centre is responsible for full cycle accounting work related to the Hospital. These responsibilities encompass preparing financial statements, reporting, reviewing balance sheet accounts, performing account reconciliations, processing journal entries, managing Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable (AP/AR), and collaborating with external portfolio managers to oversee HDS's investment portfolios and treasury functions.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- External reporting to Ontario Health, Ministry of Health and other agencies as required, ensuring reports are delivered on time and accurately;
- Review and process journal entries related to the accounting cycle for both financial and statistical accounts;
- Prepare financial statements for all corporate entities;
- Assist in the management, coordination, preparation and delivery of monthly financial reports to various stakeholders of the Hospital including packages to the Board of Directors and Finance and Audit Committee of the board;
- Perform overall analytical review of all trial balance accounts prior to month end close and discuss with the Director of Finance as required;
- Management of staff in finance department;
- Assist in leading external audit processes working closely with finance staff and external auditors;
- Assist in management of audit files to ensure documentation is complete and accurate;
- Work with the Director of Finance to build and analyze budgets for operating and capital as needed;
- Assist in the process of reviewing budget reports with clinical and non-clinical users;
- Manage treasury function including bank reconciliation processes and related reconciliations;
- Design, implement and monitor financial and internal controls, policies and procedures;
- Process improvement activities related to optimization of administrative tasks, improvements to internal control procedures and reduction of waste;
- Lead improvements to software systems through implementation of new processes and features;
- Lead and assist in Decision Support, specifically, the process of (Cost Analysis) analyzing and determining the costs associated with various medical procedures, patient care, and healthcare services;
- Provide and assist with decision-making support to hospital management by offering cost-related insights, conducting scenario analyses, and participating in budget planning activities;
- Other duties as assigned

**Hours of Work**:

- A Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation required
- 3 years’ experience in progressive leadership and accounting roles with emphasis on reporting and financial statement review; ideally in an Ontario hospital environment
- 1 to 3 years’ experience in a leadership/supervisory role in financial management
- An In-depth knowledge of accounting principles and practices
- The successful completion of a 4-year University education in business administration or commerce with an accounting or finance major
- Knowledge of various funding tools to use in the development of the operating and capital budgets
- The ability to collect, interpret, analyze and communicate financial and statistical data and trends
- Strong interpersonal, relationship building and leadership skills
- The ability to manage change and problem-solve
- The ability to work well with non-financial managers/stakeholders
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- The ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously and consistently to meet deadlines
- Experience with Medisolutions Accounting Software an asset
- Experience with Mohawk Med Buy Accounts Payable processes an asset
- Knowledge of and experience with Meditech, Oracle Health or another Hospital Information System (HIS) would also be considered an asset
