About The Role This is a great role for someone with initiative and agility; it will be a stepping stone to a career in the construction industry with one of our many business lines. The Business Coordinator provides project and administrative support to the Senior Vice President of Southern Alberta and the local senior leadership team. This position reports directly to the SVP. Time management, organization, professional agility and problem‑solving skills comprise key components of this role. Projects What You’ll Accomplish Work closely with the leadership team in managing projects and conducting research Support the Communications department with tactical work on intranet, social media, employee townhalls and leadership meetings Initiatives include handling negotiations for filming, working on equity, diversity and inclusion initiatives, and reviewing community engagement opportunities Reporting & Documentation Support the SVP in preparing reports, memos, letters, acting as gatekeeper for confidential documentation and communication Prepare and compose various documents, often confidential in nature, such as letters, correspondence, memoranda, agendas, reports, minutes, quotations, notices, postings, tables, forms, spreadsheets and presentation material for executive meetings Generate and process purchase orders Administration Work closely with the SVP to keep him informed of upcoming commitments and responsibilities, and assist with calendar management Organize Southern Alberta Executive Committee meetings, including schedule coordination, agenda preparation, and facilitation assistance on the day of the meeting Take minutes of executive meetings and disseminate professional versions post‑meeting to attendees Act as ambassador for visiting executives, processing expenses and travel coordination Prepare both domestic and international travel/hotel/car arrangements for the SVP and any visitors Serve as a contact point for all persons to contact the SVP, understanding the priority of the contact and acting as an ambassador to all of the SVP’s contacts Manage corporate event accounts, including allocation, catering and reporting (e.g., corporate box and stadium tickets) Demonstrate commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors What We’re Looking For Education: Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma Field of Study Preferred: Business Administration, Marketing, Finance, Engineering, or a related field Required Work Experience: 1 year in a related field Required Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint; working knowledge of Microsoft Projects, Adobe Acrobat, Photoshop/PageMaker, SAP, and Fiori is an asset Required Training/Certifications: N/A Travel Requirements: 0–10% Additional Requirements Strong written and verbal communication skills Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships at differing levels within the organization Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion Highly resourceful team player, able to be extremely effective independently Must be flexible, able to balance multiple tasks and changing priorities, with required urgency Must have the ability to diplomatically negotiate deadlines and deliverables Exhibit exceptional organizational skills to complete assignments and produce accurate work products in a timely manner without follow‑up Take initiative to research and solve problems Balance the need to be a gatekeeper with the need to also be collaborative Excellent proofreading and editing skills Adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including respirators.
