Business Development Representative - Ontario SGP is a Purchasing Network committed to providing unmatched customer service, comprehensive network support, and innovative solutions to the Senior Care Market. Defined by our customized and focused programs and services, SGP understands our partners’ business and is dedicated to ensuring optimum network performance for our Partner’s procurement needs. Reporting to the Sales Manager, Ontario, the Business Development Representative has responsibility in three key areas: sales/marketing, program compliance, and client retention. The position works closely with the Ontario Purchasing team to design, implement, and administer programs that support both short‑ and long‑term strategic objectives of the company. Candidates are invited to apply for the position of Business Development Representative which can be located in Eastern Ontario or within the GTA. Key Responsibilities Develop territory sales and meet sales objectives for assigned territory Build partnerships with key customers, suppliers, and industry associations Business Development and Client Retention in Eastern Ontario (Toronto to Ottawa) Consultative selling and promotion of products and services within customer segments in assigned territory Plan and conduct programs and activities (in‑services, continuing health education programs, regional meetings, etc.) that drive growth of the SGP brand in territory Attend industry trade shows for the territory Identify opportunities in accounts that require a multifunctional team approach and work with the team to set objectives that drive sales Focus heavily on building and developing the SGP base business Serve as main point of contact for accounts Use company resources appropriately to move toward achievement of set goals for the account Build solid business relationships in a competitive market that support growth of the current client base while meeting financial objectives Provide analytic insight to territory data, issues, and opportunities, utilizing all available company resources Manage the annual budget for territory activities and programs Report on new product ideas/suggestions, market trends, and competition What We’re Looking For Experience in Long‑Term Care, Retirement, and Senior Living is an asset Post‑secondary school education with emphasis on business or health‑care services required Proven ability to build business partnerships and to deal effectively with all levels of management Experience developing an Annual Business Plan for Territory, focusing on business planning steps within scope of control and needs from cross‑functional partners High energy, flexible individual with the ability to prioritize, multi‑task, and learn new skills Ability to present information clearly and effectively both verbally and in writing; an active listener who projects a professional demeanor Customer‑focused attitude, with the ability to understand, anticipate, and identify customer needs while using information to provide the best‑individualized service Required to lift sample products up to 30 lbs This role will require domestic travel to cover the given geography in Eastern Ontario, Canada (25% to 30%). Travel is required to interface with SGP Partners on a regular basis. Occasional weekend travel may be required for company meetings, trade shows, and/or SGP Partner conferences.
