Summary We are looking for a meticulous and driven Accounts Payable Administrator to join the Finance team at the Akash Homes Head Office in Edmonton, Alberta. This role offers flexibility and can be structured as part‑time, full‑time, or contract. Opportunity Your key role is to ensure the smooth operation of the accounts payable function. You will manage all aspects of the process from processing invoices to maintaining vendor relationships. Top 3 Priorities in the First Six Months Implement best practices for coding, approvals, and reconciliation to maintain compliance and reduce errors. Build strong partnerships with vendors by ensuring prompt responses to inquiries and resolving discrepancies quickly. Assist with month‑end close by preparing reconciliations and ensuring all AP transactions are recorded accurately. What You’ll Work On Process and review invoices for accuracy, completeness, and proper approvals. Enter invoices into accounting software (Sage 50 and Homefront Payables Desk). Match invoices to purchase orders. Work with purchasers, site supervisors, and vendors to approve, code, and correct invoices. Ensure timely and accurate payment of invoices in accordance with company policies and procedures. Reconcile accounts payable transactions and resolve discrepancies. Maintain positive relationships with vendors and respond to inquiries in a timely manner. Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of the accounts payable function. Stay updated on industry best practices and emerging trends in accounts payable management. What You’ll Bring Experience in an accounts payable role (construction experience is an asset). Familiarity with Sage (Simply Accounting) and Homefront (or other construction software). Strong data entry accuracy and financial reporting skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Office tools. Excellent communication skills—written and verbal. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment. A proactive, problem‑solving mindset and high attention to detail. Confidence working independently and collaboratively across departments. Benefits Competitive salary.
