p>The Phase 3 Clerkship Site Lead, Pediatrics (Sudbury), is a physician who serves as a contact person for the Associate Dean, Undergraduate Medical Education (UME) and/or delegate and clerkship students at NOSM University (NOSM U). They are responsible for ensuring clerkship students are receiving a high-quality educational experience in a safe learning environment during each Pediatrics core rotation.The Phase 3 Clerkship Site Lead, Pediatrics (Sudbury), reports to the Associate Dean, UME. Collegial and collaborative supervision, leadership and guidance, including delegation of the tasks and contribution to performance review, will be by the Assistant Dean, Clinical Education, and Pediatrics Section Chair.Participate in Pediatrics Section meetings/communications providing updates and opportunities to gather input from section members on UME Pediatrics clerkship rotation to support all functions of this role.Ensures that the Phase 3 Duty Hours and On-Call Policy is followed.Participates actively in undergraduate medical education accreditation activities as per the Committee on the Accreditation of Canadian Medical Schools (CACMS) and becomes familiar with the CACMS Standards and elements available at CACMS.Ensures that students have access to required clinical learning experiences (or that alternative experiences are available) and monitors student progress as the rotation progresses as per Element 6.li>Ensures that students receive feedback early enough during the rotation to allow sufficient time for improvement as per Element 9.li>Ensures the completion of student assessment forms at the end of each core rotation as per the Phase 3 Promotion and Reassessment Remediation Plan. The Clerkship Lead will ensure that all assessment items are completed no later than 6 weeks after the rotation has ended as per Element 9.li>Ensures that students and faculty are familiar with UME policies that govern medical education including duty hours/ on-call policy, blood borne pathogen (needlestick) policy, leave of absence policy, mistreatment procedure and other policies pertinent to Phase 3 students.Collaborates with both Clerkship Lead in the same discipline on the other campus (Sudbury) and the Clinical Medicine and Therapeutics, Clinical Pediatrics Lead to share best practices and common learning opportunities, review academic sessions for content, to ensure objectives are covered and effective and consistent delivery.Works in collaboration with hospital site academic affairs staff as needed to ensure consistent experience for students.Regularly monitors the rotation learning environment to ensure student, faculty and patient safety.Regularly reviews and addresses needs identified in program evaluation data with a continuing quality improvement approach.Possession of a current license to practice medicine in the province of Ontario Must have (or be eligible for) a faculty appointment with NOSM University Language Must be able to communicate effectively in English (verbally, written and comprehension) French/Indigenous language skills would be considered an asset Interested candidates are to submit a resume along with verification of academic accomplishments quoting the competition number # 2024-1907-DM to:
