The North East Specialized Geriatric Centre at Health Sciences North is seeking an innovative and dynamic individual for the position of Regional Clinical Quality Lead. In this role, they will lead the implementation and sustainability of geriatric care standards across healthcare organizations in the North East region. They will collaborate with Ontario Health North East, hospitals, Ontario Health at Home, Community Support Services (CSS), primary care, and other regional partners. Additionally, they will provide support to the Clinical Implementation Specialist and local teams through training, resource allocation, and problem-solving
**DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW**
In the northeast, adults 65 years of age and older represented 23.3% (n=130,135) of the overall population in 2021, and is expected to increase to 26.1% (n=162,561) of the total population by 2030. During this same time-period, the estimated number of older adults (65+) living with frailty is projected to grow by 29% (n=31,270 (2021), n=40,326 (2030)) with a projected increase of 52.2% by 2040.
Ontario's clinical geriatric services are coordinated by regional partners that are called Regional Geriatric Programs (RGPs). All RGPs provide strategic and operational leadership for the implementation of clinical geriatric services region-wide, and work collaboratively with local community and health partners to advance integrated care for older adults.
As the Regional Geriatric Program (RGP) of northeastern Ontario, North East Specialized Geriatric Centre (NESGC) will guide the ongoing implementation of the geriatric standard of care through service delivery, capacity building, research and evaluation, as well as system leadership and oversight of SGS. In keeping with Provincial Geriatrics Leadership Ontario’s (PGLO) strategic priorities to drive clinical excellence, build capacity across the system and advance senior’s health policy, NESGC has four key mandates:
1. Provide and support local and regional clinical specialized geriatric services
2. Build geriatric capacity across the health system
3. Conduct research and evaluation
4. Advance health policy that impacts older adults living with frailty and complexity

**KEY FUNCTION**:
Guide healthcare organizations across the North East to implement and sustain geriatric care standards. Partner with Ontario Health North East, hospitals, Ontario Health at Home, Community Support Services (CSS), primary care, and other regional partners. Support the Clinical Implementation Specialist and local teams with training, resource allocation, and troubleshooting.
