Position OverviewGanotec is a full service, heavy industrial contractor serving the industrial sector across Canada. We conduct our business through a variety of commercial contract styles including full turnkey, EPC, design build, T&M and conventional discipline packages. We have always been a strong proponent of “partnering”, working in collaboration with owners, major equipment suppliers and engineering firms at the early stages of the project development phase to allow for a more cost-effective execution strategy for the project.
ResponsibilitiesSafety Planning and Implementation:
- Develop and implement comprehensive safety plans and procedures specific to industrial construction projects.
- Ensure that safety protocols are aligned with regulatory requirements, industry best practices, and Ganotec's safety standards.
- Conduct regular site inspections to identify potential hazards and assess safety risks.
Training and Education:
- Develop and deliver safety training programs for employees and subcontractors.
- Provide guidance on safety-related certifications and qualifications required for specific job roles.
- Promote a culture of safety awareness and accountability across all levels of the organization.
Incident Management and Investigation:
- Lead investigations into safety incidents, near misses, and accidents.
- Ensure timely reporting of all safety incidents in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
Regulatory Compliance:
- Stay informed about changes in safety regulations and standards applicable to bridge and marine construction.
- Coordinate with regulatory authorities during inspections and audits.
Safety Performance Monitoring:
- Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure safety performance on projects.
- Conduct regular assessments and audits to evaluate adherence to safety standards and identify areas for improvement.
- Provide timely and accurate safety reports to project management and senior leadership.
- Education in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field. li>
- Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in construction safety management, ideally with a focus on industrial projects.
- Professional certification in safety management (ie. li>
- CPR/First Aid, Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification and OSHA/MSHA instructor certifications are preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety, Quebec regulations and other relevant safety standards.
- Willingness to travel and relocate to project sites as needed.
