IAMGOLD is seeking a Director, Geology, to lead our Global Resource Estimation Group and serve as the corporation's primary Qualified Person (QP). Reporting to the Vice President of Technical Services, this critical role oversees the estimation of resources and reserves across IAMGOLD’s open pit and underground operations, ensuring compliance with NI 43-101 standards and securities regulations. The Director, Geology is accountable for the public disclosure of mineral resources and reserves, coordinating the annual reporting process, managing third-party consultants, and ensuring reconciliation studies are incorporated into future estimation efforts. This role provides strategic leadership in resource estimation, promoting best practices, innovation, and continuous improvement to enhance predictive accuracy.

As a key leader, the incumbent develops and governs IAMGOLD’s corporate technical standards for resource estimation, ensuring consistent application across the organization. The role also involves supporting development studies, project evaluations, and due diligence efforts, including preparing and reviewing geological and resource models. This individual ensures sampling, assaying, and QA/QC processes meet disclosure requirements while staying informed on regulatory and technological advancements to guide corporate practices.

In addition to technical responsibilities, the Director, Geology mentors and develops the Resource Estimation team, fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation. They work to build effective relationships with stakeholders, operators, and government officials, inspiring teams to deliver at their highest potential.

What You Need to Succeed

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10 years of experience in mining geology, including expertise in resource estimation for surface and underground operations. A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Geology or Geological Engineering and professional certification to act as a QP under NI 43-101 are required. Advanced project management, leadership, decision-making skills, and fluency in English (French is an asset) are essential.

This role is based in Toronto and has a flexible hybrid work arrangement. It requires office attendance on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. Regular travel to operational sites, approximately 25-30% annually, is also required.
