Reporting to the Director Quality Improvement, Safety and Patient Relations, the Quality Improvement & Safety Leader will lead NSH’s provincial and zone programs for quality, safety, accreditation, infection prevention & control, patient relations, and risk management. The role includes implementing comprehensive quality, patient safety, infection prevention & control, patient engagement, patient relations, risk, and accreditation plans to achieve optimal health care outcomes and ensure compliance with accreditation requirements.Undergraduate degree from a health care profession program/discipline required Master's level preparation in a clinical health discipline, Health Services Administration, Business Administration, or a related program is an asset Minimum of 5 years quality and patient safety leadership experience, including 5 years of relevant clinical experience in a health care environment Certificate or training related to quality, patient safety, risk management, or related program is an asset Certified Health Executive is an asset Experience in planning and implementing strategic activities related to accreditation, safety, quality improvement, infection control, and risk management Experience engaging teams, leaders, medical staff, clinicians, patients/clients, and stakeholders collaboratively Expertise in data management, data analysis, and statistical manipulation; excellent report writing and presentation skills Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet, database, presentation, and graphics software Experience in project management and program evaluation is an asset Demonstrated independent decision-making, creativity, self-direction, motivation, change management, and leadership skills Competencies in other languages are an asset; French preferred Please ensure your resume is up to date and includes all relevant education, experience, training, and certifications.Nova Scotia Health is committed to a workforce that is free of discrimination, values diversity, and is representative of the people we serve.
