Position Indigenous Liaison – EA 5 Location St. Kateri School Hours per week 25-31 Hours per week Start Date ASAP Closing Date November 14, 2025 Job Reference IL-SK-11062025 Key Function(s) The employee provides social, emotional and academic support and guidance to Indigenous students. Additionally, is a cultural interpreter, role model and mentor of students and staff in understanding Indigenous culture. Job Qualifications At least one (1) year of experience working with Indigenous Family Support, Community Support Worker or similar type position. Certificate/diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution related to Indigenous studies, or Child and Youth, or Social Work diploma or other equivalent combinations of directly related post-secondary education and directly related experience will be considered. Access to vehicle and valid class 5 driver’s license Requirements Knowledge and ability to work effectively with Indigenous students and families Ability to work cooperatively with parents, school and community agencies Excellent organizational, report writing, and time management skills are essential Must be comfortable with home visits Ability to organize cultural events and to bring speakers and resources to support our Indigenous educational programs Extensive knowledge of Indigenous culture is essential Knowledge of Cree and Dene languages is beneficial Experience working with students with learning difficulties and training in literacy-numeracy are assets The successful candidate will be required to provide a Criminal Reference Check and a Vulnerable Sector Check.
