**Indigenous Relations Liaison**
**$69,969.42 - $89,774.32 annually**
BC Timber Sales works with regional and district operations to plan, develop, and auction the province’s annual available timber volume. Three overarching principles guide operations: forest sector safety, reconciliation with Indigenous Peoples, and sustainable forest management.

The Indigenous Relations Liaison works within the BCTS business area to develop and maintain positive relationships with Indigenous Peoples to advance BCTS’ business principle dedicated to true and lasting reconciliation. The position works directly with Indigenous Peoples and staff to plan and facilitate legal consultation processes (i.e., preparation, engagement, accommodation, decision, and follow-up) consistent with legal requirements, reconciliation and relationship building, and supports senior staff in negotiation and implementation of business-to-business and relational agreements that contribute to effective and durable relationships with Indigenous Peoples.

**Qualifications for this role include**:
- Registered, or eligible for registration, as professional (i.e., Registered Professional Forester) with the British Columbia association as required by the specialty area, and 2 (two) years of experience related to natural resource (i.e., forestry) or Indigenous Peoples relationship management. Registered Forest Technologist do not qualify as professionals under this classification series.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Must possess at minimum a valid Class 5 BC Driver’s Licence that does not limit or restrict the ability to conduct the duties of the job.
