Overview

The Benefits Associate works alongside and in support of client managers (Consultants/Account Managers) to provide service support for our clients.


How you'll make an impact

Internal support can include the following:

  • support on implementation of new groups (e. gathering and reviewing enrollments) and participate in implementation calls to monitor the process through a service lens
  • support analyst where needed on renewals (e. gather reports, prepare admin policies, data entry on London renewal-demographics, claims breakdowns, top drugs)
  • peer review non-refund experience reports prepared by Gallagher Service Center and send to clients
  • prepare specialty renewals (e. AD&D renewals)
  • complete requests for amendments, including updating client booklets, and pricing
  • plan design management including inquiries and booklet reviews
  • support analyst where needed on marketings (e. completion of employee census)
  • investigate complex inquiries that come in from clients but cannot be resolved by the carrier’s Client Service Representative
  • have input and involvement in client service programs and development of metrics that support our client service model
  • Input into drafting client materials including Benefits at a Glance and Employee/Client Presentations
  • maintain internal client management systems
  • participate in generating awareness for benchmarking survey and run benchmarking reports
  • understand and speak knowledgably about Gallagher Better Works

 

Included in standard service agreement to clients as a Plan Sponsor resource:

  • One day service commitment for escalations or complex claims:
    • Carrier service issues
    • High cost drugs
    • Exceptions
  • Plan Administrator Support & Training (i.e. – contact sheets, new hire guides, exit & termination items, importance of salary updates, involuntary terminations, and 31 day late applicant period)

 

Outside of standard service agreement (fee for service add-ons):

  • Special projects
  • Direct employee communication with respect to carrier changes, optional benefits, flex plan re-enrollments
  • Client requested benefits projects
  • Billing / enrollment audit

About you

  • 2+ years of experience in group benefits, including but not limited to similar client service, plan administration, and benefits analysis
  • Successful completion of CEBS, GBA, Life License or similar designations preferred
  • Consistent track record of solving complex client challenges through analytical & creative problem solving, while navigating potentially difficult conversations
  • High level of comfort managing client groups of a wide variety of sizes and levels of complexity
  • Hands-on renewal experience a definite plus
