Our client is a dynamic, growth-oriented, and safety-focused company. With customer service and safety as their focus, they are looking for full time energetic and driven Operations Supervisor.

The Operations Supervisor position contributes to the effective and efficient operation of the site through the daily supervision of site staff. In addition to working in collaboration with other business units and departments, this position provides leadership, direction, and support by assisting team members in their duties, as required, to meet service expectations, goals, and objectives.

Under the direction of the General Manager, the incumbent will be responsible for the following: Adhere to and enforce health and safety policies and procedures, use proper personal protective equipment and other safety equipment. Ensures compliance with WCB safety procedures through the facilities, including the public drop-off areas, and prepares reports and completes investigations as required. Plans, delegates, and monitors the work and training of site operational staff daily to ensure efficient operation(s) and compliance with policies and procedures. Assists the General Manager with Annual Performance Evaluation and feedback to team members, utilizes coaching and counseling techniques, as well as progressive discipline for performance deficiencies. Oversees and takes charge of operational staff at the site, including the coordination of subcontractors as needed. Manages and follows-up with internal and external customers as required. Works in collaboration with the other divisions that brings materials to or removes material from the site facilities. Prioritizes and schedules maintenance of site premises, buildings, heavy equipment, and infrastructure. Knowledge of WHMIS regulations and safe work procedures. Strong interpersonal, communication (verbal and written), conflict resolution, leadership and collaborative team building skills. Ability to communicate effectively with customers and manage stressful situations in a constantly changing environment calmly and effectively. Demonstrated problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinker who can multi-task, is a self-starter, is very organized, and demonstrates and promotes ethical behavior. Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets, and database computer applications. Ability to learn and work with site operations contracts and requirements. Physical ability sufficient to perform the job tasks. Valid driver’s license and current insurance must be insurable under company policy.
