Food Service Operations Supervisor

The Nutrition and Food Service Supervisor plays a crucial role in overseeing the daily operations of food services within the healthcare environment. This position is responsible for supervising staff, managing meal service delivery, and ensuring that all operations adhere to safety and efficiency standards.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise front-line employees and manage day-to-day food service operations.
- Ensure the safe and efficient delivery of meals and services.
- Act as a liaison within the Nutrition and Food Services team, providing guidance and support to staff.
- Assist in administrative and operational functions in alignment with the strategic goals of the department.
- Commit to patient safety through continuous quality assurance and food safety practices.
We invite candidates who possess the following qualifications:
- A degree or recognized certification in Food and Nutrition Management is preferred.
- Journeyman Cook Certification is advantageous.
- Completion of Advanced Food Safety Certification and HACCP Training.
- A minimum of two years of experience in food service management or clinical nutrition is preferred.
- Experience in a healthcare setting and familiarity with unionized environments is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of customer-focused food service operations.
- Proven leadership skills and experience in staff management.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Accountability in fiscal management, quality improvement, and food safety practices.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate:
- A commitment to building collaborative relationships with stakeholders.
- A focus on delivering high-quality, person-centered service.
- Conflict resolution skills and a proactive approach to change management.
- A dedication to continuous improvement and innovation in service delivery.
- Ability to manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to travel to various sites as required.
- Competencies in additional languages are considered an asset.
This position is part-time, requiring approximately 30 hours biweekly, with shifts that may include days and weekends. Flexibility in scheduling is necessary.
CompensationThe hourly wage for this position is competitive and reflective of the responsibilities involved.
