As The Senior Enterprise Solutions Technical Lead (BI & Data Lead), you will report to the Business Intelligence Services Manager within the Technology Services Division. In this role, you will provide specialized technical and business consulting services to address project and operational needs, including Business Process Reviews, Data Architecture Design and Review, Technical Architecture Review, and Technical Assessments, all in alignment with the City’s Data and BI strategic direction.

The Senior Enterprise Solutions Technical Lead (BI & Data) is responsible for leading a team of skilled BI and Data professionals who support services in data warehousing (cloud/on-prem), data management and integration, and reporting and analytics. This position requires close collaboration with Project Managers, Technical Solutions Services Managers, technical team members, and other SAP and non-SAP stakeholders.

  • Manages, motivates, and trains unit staff to ensure effective teamwork, high-quality work, continuous learning, and innovation.
  • Oversees BI & Data Services delivery within Business Intelligence Services.
  • Supervises daily operations of assigned staff, including work scheduling and review, vacation and overtime authorization, performance evaluations, and salary adjustments.
  • Develops and administers the unit's annual budget, ensuring expenditures remain within approved limits.
  • Leads the design and implementation of foundational BI enterprise solutions, providing technical leadership in BI & Data Management development.
  • Defines and delivers long-term strategic goals for BI enterprise solution implementation, collaborating with business users, divisional managers, clients, and stakeholders.
  • Develops and implements critical BI enterprise solution components and information.
  • Conducts ongoing research to update BI enterprise solutions based on organizational needs.
  • Ensures solutions, data strategies, and architectures comply with regulatory standards.
  • Leads governance and data management across the organization, including data quality, integration, modeling, governance, and warehousing.
  • Collaborates with Business, Data Analytics team and other stakeholders on business processes, data sourcing, data quality, and data migration strategies.
  • Ensures adherence to solution and data quality management standards.
  • Oversees data mapping, movement, interfaces, and analytics, ensuring data quality.

Key Qualifications:

  • Considerable experience in a BI & Data Management leadership and supervisory position that has implemented large-scale BI and Data enterprise implementations.
  • Considerable experience in BI & Data Management development and sustainment, including data modeling, data quality, data integration (ETL), data migration, data virtualization, master data management, metadata management, data governance, data warehousing and analytics.
  • Considerable experience with SAP such as SAP Business Warehouse (cloud/on-prem), SAP Business Intelligence platform, SAP Data Services, SAP Analytics Cloud and SAP Fiori.
  • Experience with Analytics tools like Tableau or Power BI at enterprise level.
  • Post-secondary education in Computer Science or a related discipline with experience in large-scale information technology systems or the approved equivalent combination of education and experience in the Data Management field.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, including presenting and composing written documents to senior IT and business stakeholders.
