Director, Corporate Asset Management

In accordance with the Vision, Purpose, and Values, and strategic direction of the Vancouver Island Health Authority, patient safety is a priority and a responsibility shared by everyone at VIHA; as such, the requirement to continuously improve quality and safety is inherent in all aspects of this position.
Reporting to the Executive Director, Clinical Solutions Engineering, the Director, System Operations and Lifecycle provides leadership to ensure the necessary infrastructure including people, process, and technology is in place to deliver high-quality information services that meet the needs of VIHA's clinical and corporate programs.
The director is responsible for all operational activities required to ensure the performance and availability of the information system services including service level management, incident management, problem management, financial management, availability management, change management, configuration management, operational planning, and performance monitoring for all application systems in use by the integrated clinical portfolios as well as finance, general support services, human resources, and corporate services.
The director works closely with operational managers and directors throughout VIHA to ensure their systems needs are being met and collaborates with the various project directors and strategic service groups to ensure that the lifecycle of existing systems matches anticipated increases in demand and that new systems, services, and functionality transition smoothly from projects to operational support.
QUALIFICATIONS: Education, Training And ExperienceA level of education, training and experience equivalent to a Master's degree in Computing Science, Information Management, or related discipline and a minimum of ten (10) years of progressively more responsible information management experience including at least five (5) years at the management level.
CPHIMS and ITIL designations are an asset.
Software development/support experience is mandatory.
Knowledge of the healthcare system, workflows, and common services is mandatory.
