About this opportunity:
Cenovus is looking for a Senior Strategic HR Business Partner to join our exceptional HR team who will be located at our Lloydminster Upgrader. Reporting to the Senior Manager Strategic HR Partnerships, your main responsibility will be to provide strategic HR support to Senior Leaders, Front line leaders and employees who reside in the Lloydminster area. This role works closely with the broader Strategic HR Partner team as well as the HR Centers of Expertise to deliver programs and services in alignment with the business and people strategy and plans.
What you’ll do:
Strategic Planning
- Act as a strategic partner to assigned leadership teams in planning for the people components of the business strategy such as organizational capacity, capability, people experience, and risk that will drive high performance of the business area.
- Execute on the Cenovus People plan to advance business performance.
- Develop and complete special HR projects to close gaps identified in the business area’s organization capacity, capability, and people experience.
- Work closely in partnership with COEs to ensure function programs are consistent with the People Plan, People Principles and are implemented efficiently and effectively, tapping into resources and capability within the HR Department.
- Lead and facilitate an integrated approach to employee development, talent reviews, succession planning and internal development and mobility to enable leaders to meet current and future performance requirements.
- Provide change management consulting to support the successful execution of changes.
Deliver Client Service
- Support the execution of annual HR Programs such as leadership development, succession planning, employee development, performance management, mentoring, and compensation.
- Gather feedback from clients regularly to ensure planning, projects, services, and support being provided aligns to business area needs.
- Provide expertise on organization design, organizational and team effectiveness, workforce planning, talent development, succession planning, attrition and retention.
- Collaborate with HR Operations to ensure consistent and quality delivery of services to clients.
Manage Risk
- Provide advice and consultation to management and employees on performance and conduct.
- Report and address employee concerns in accordance with Company policies.
Continuous Improvement
- Influence and support the development and delivery of fit for purpose governance, programs, processes and services within the COEs and service delivery teams of the HR Department.
- Represent the business area’s needs in HR program development and planning and continuous improvement; li>
- Completion of a post-secondary degree in a related field (Human Resources, Business).
- Minimum 8 years HR experience with experience demonstrating technical and behavioral HR Capabilities below.
- Minimum of 5+ years of Organizational Effectiveness / Team Effectiveness, and proven track record to influence culture with both Senior and Frontline leaders.
- Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) designation or equivalent is an asset.
