Ai Insurance Organization is a leading provider of insurance and bonding solutions across Canada. We are looking for a motivated Business Development Consultant to join our growing team and drive our surety offerings forward. You will have the opportunity to be exposed to interdepartmental operations that you wouldn't have access to at a larger brokerage.
Job Description
This role will spearhead the launch and ongoing promotion of Ai Insurance Organization's product and service propositions across its organization. The individual will be expected to communicate the broad aspects of each product and service, assisting our brokers to develop profitable revenue-generating initiatives. The prospecting and appointing of target brokers will also be a key responsibility as will broker management, sales and marketing, training, profitability, and planning. This position is ideal for a seasoned commercial producer looking for a base salary and continued commission opportunities.
Summary Of Role & Responsibilities
- Prospect and appoint target Brokers that meet Ai Insurance Organization's pre-determined criteria. Focus will be placed on the broker that is capable of understanding and fulfilling our Commercial Insurance proposition.
- Measure, analyze and evaluate proposition effectiveness and Broker performance, recommending improvements wherever necessary.
- Develop individual annual business plans with brokers that include GWP, retention, and loss ratio objectives.
- Monitor results against plan, visit brokers and review brokers on a regular basis while also recommending corrective measures when/as needed.
- Track market intelligence such as market conditions, competitors’ activity (products, services, CPC, promotional materials, automation), and rate reviews.
- Collaborate with all other departmental Teams on broker interaction and feedback to assist the development of the organization that proactively supports the promotion of Ai Insurance Organization's proposition.
- Assist in providing training in brokers’ offices concerning all Ai Insurance Organization's products and underwriting guideline criteria.
- Contribute to Ai Insurance Organization's overall profitability by soliciting profitable growth initiatives in targeted classes of customer and business.
- Assist brokers in targeting and soliciting new Commercial risks and revenue-generating opportunities, that align with Ai Insurance Organization's appetite and conform to guidelines.
- Support the development of the annual business development plan through the building of a territorial business plan, broker-by-broker and actively participating in planning and forecasting for current and future business development.
- Stay abreast of industry issues through courses, seminars, and industry journals and attending related events as required.
- Oversee and manage Ai Insurance Organization's larger risk portfolio on a lucrative commission basis to complement base salary.
Qualifications
- Must possess a solid understanding of both personal and commercial lines insurance business in a customer-focused environment.
- Target driven professional with excellent organizational, time management, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills with a strong aptitude to influence others, coupled with sound problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Strong ability to compile and analyze data, prepare reports, and make recommendations based on findings.
- Computer literacy with strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
Education And Experience
- A minimum of 7 years’ experience in commercial lines property and casualty insurance industry.
- CIP or CAIB or working towards one of these designations is an asset.
- RIBO licensed in good standing.
