Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Project Manager to join our dynamic team in one of our Ontario offices (Burlington, Mississauga, London, Kitchener, Guelph, Toronto or Bowmanville). The successful candidate will play a key role in managing the design, implementation, and optimization of traffic signal and roadway illumination systems for municipal clients across Canada. As a Project Manager, you will collaborate with engineers, technicians, and other project stakeholders to deliver innovative and effective solutions for transportation infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead the design and preparation of traffic signal layouts, roadway illumination designs, lane markings, and signage.
  2. Perform lighting analysis using AGi32 software to ensure optimal lighting performance and compliance with design standards.
  3. Conduct vehicle turning radii analysis at intersections to ensure safe and efficient traffic flow.
  4. Develop and review electrical wiring diagrams, schematics, and detailed design documents.
  5. Perform voltage drop calculations and ensure the electrical integrity of systems.
  6. Prepare contract documents, technical specifications, and other required documentation for projects.
  7. Coordinate with hydro companies to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (O.Reg. 22/04).
  8. Prepare accurate and detailed as-built drawings.
  9. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and other project managers to ensure successful delivery of transportation projects.
  10. Provide technical oversight, training, and mentorship to junior staff, including reviewing designs, calculations, and drawings.
  11. Manage client relationships and oversee project management activities to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget.
  12. Ensure adherence to industry standards, safety protocols, and quality assurance processes throughout project execution.

Qualifications

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
  2. Licensed Professional Engineer with Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO).
  3. Minimum of 5 years of experience in traffic signal and roadway illumination design, with a strong understanding of transportation engineering principles.
  4. Proficiency in design software, including MicroStation and/or AutoCAD.
  5. Experience with SPIDAcalc for electrical analysis.
  6. Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  7. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients, contractors, and internal teams.
  8. Certification with the International Municipal Signal Association (IMSA) in Work Zone Safety and Traffic Signal Design Levels I and II is considered an asset.
  9. Valid Ontario Driver’s Licence (Class G) and access to a personal vehicle for business purposes.
  10. Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
